7) Branch Welfare Activities:

  • ACMS, Sonari Branch raised dispute for the non payment of the arrear of the increased wages of the Tea Garden Workers. The issue was discussed and settled at Bilateral level with the Tea Estate Management.  Now the workers concerned received their due arrear of the increased wages.

  • ACMS, Sonari Branch is arranging for budli permanent employment to the dependents of the retired workers for relief  and rehabilitation negotiating with the Tea Estate Management.

  • Provision of water supply and installation of Tube wells in the Tea Gardens as per requirement is arranged by ACMS, Sonari Branch.

  • The temporary workwomen have been benefited as per Maternity Act.

  • The amount of cash compensation as much as possible in lieu of firewood is being paid discussing it with the  Management of many Tea Gardens at a Bilateral Level.

  •  Electric connection in the labour houses is arranged in the Tea Estates where it is not provided.

  • ACMS, Sonari Branch press upon the Management to appoint Medical and Para-Medical staff in the Tea Garden  Hospital as per requirement.

  • Provision of the latrines in labour houses is arranged.

  • The efficient and eligible workers are placed on proper grade.

  •  The educated youths are being sent for training at Tocklai Research Centre.

  • ACMS, Sonari Branch  arranges for provision of the labour house/crèche house in the Tea Estates where it is not provided.

  • Contract work as per Act and Role is followed.
