the proceedings of 19th Session of the
Standing Labour Committee held on the 22nd and
23rd May 1962 at Shillong.
"After
further exchange of views both sides agreed to
16th cft. of solid wood as the quantum of
Firewood to be made available by the
management and suggest that the Labour
Commissioner should send a report of the
Agreement to the Wage Board. He also made it
clear that this represented a final settlement
of the problem of fire wood. This was accepted
by Labour and Government representatives."
Alternative Fuel Supply to Tea Workers

form the proceeding the 21st Session of the
Standing Labour Committee held on 15th June,
1963 at Shillong.
"After some
deliberations, the chairman suggested as a
comprises, that 100 Ozs. of Kerosene Oil
might be supplied to a family per week which
was finally accepted by all present. It was
also agreed that this decision would be given
effect to form the 1st July, 1963, and that
the Wage Board would be informed accordingly.
Mr.
Hannay raised the question of the supply of
burns (it was decided at the 19th. Session
that burners would be supplied free of cost by
employers), and maintained that to prevent
wanton or malicious damages, workers should be
required to make a deposit.
The
chairman suggested that this matter could be
discussed in future, if necessity arise." |
